What are potential dangers of growing bamboo?

I'm planting Vivax bamboo, which should be one of the hardiest and largest here in Washington 7B. However, like most large bamboos, they're heavy and tall, so are there an dangers in it falling and damaging anything within a 40 foot radius? Should I isolate them? That would limit the locations considerably. I don't know how resistant bamboo are to wind and falling down. Can I use it as a privacy screen or is it too large?

Are they any dangers of growing bamboo I should be aware of other than its fast spread and that it's hard to remove completely?

I have several choices,
-- one in a relatively shaded area but clear surrounding,
-- another in medium sun on a 6 foot raised terrace right by the house (seems risky considering its already large size),
-- another by the neighbor fence line,
--another in a former pond, but 10 ft away from the main road(though surrounded by 10 ft high hedge and pines),
Another in a secluded area with medium sun, but fifteen feet from main road and power line and 20 feet from neighbors fence, surrounded by several pines which is sunk down 5 ft with a concrete wall on one side but with a greenhouse on the area directly by it on the are 5ft up.

Planting bamboo should be done properly. Bamboo sends out runners that may pop up several feet away from the plant site, in lawns, break thru ponds create leaks, runners in neighbors yard. Bamboo seeks out water in pipes , holding tanks and cisterns. They are light weight and tough a steel to cut thru runners and thinning out growth.
Bamboo can be contained if planted with metal barriers on all sides of the planting hole 1-1/2 foot deep. Bamboo barriers can be found at UR local nursery. Consider UR choices above now that u have planting info u have better info to make a informed decision.
Bamboo is in the grass family grows very fast once established.
Bamboo makes a beautiful screen instead of fences. It is very strong and hardy as well as extremely difficult outside of bulldozing to get rid of once established. Bamboo is sail worthy holds up well to wind.
I have several areas planted with bamboo used as a screen planted in the ground with bamboo barriers for 20 years and kept contained with proper trimming and maintenance. They require wide open spaces. For easy access to planting the area to meet the containment requirements.
I recommend bamboo as a screen when planted with using the contained method and always keep in bounds of the planting area by spraying with weed killer when a shoot is spotted out of bounds so that shoot in turn cannot spread & literally walk on. Always surround the top of the planting hole with landscaping RR ties to also keep bamboo form jumping out of the planting hole. Check with UR local nursery or contact UR county extension service or more details in UR area.
And growing zone.
