What are laptops with excellent speakers?

I tried out the Dell Latitude E6540, but it is over a grand! And that is so much money for a laptop.
Are there any really good computers that have great speakers and a large screen, possibly 14' to 16'.

Also are there deals for college students? I am a fan of dell. I had a Dell Inspirion 1525 but it officially died after 6 years and whenever I had a minor problem I had excellent customer service with dell. But Im open to any suggestions. I do not like touch screens. And I want it to be around $300-$500.

Friend of mine has HP laptop with Beats speakers, but he keeps saying the output is poor and he likes th JBL speakers in my Lenovo way better.

But I guess it doesn't matter much. It's highly subjective thing and... well. Sound is vibration of air. So you need something to move the air, something to amplify the vibration and so on. Have you seen how small the speakers in laptops are?

Every manufacturer is trying to produce the slimmest, cheapest device, so they usually use the cheapest electronics and sacrifice the room proper resonation chambers would need.
Some laptop manufacturers even overcharge the speakers to get them louder without having to use more expensive solution (guess what. The overcharged speakers tend to burn out after few months)

If you want decent speakers. Buy external ones. There is just that much you can expect from tiny speakers in laptops and mobile phones.
Especially the cheap ones. The price has to drop because of something, so don't be surprised to find out that cheaper device will have severe drawbacks and compromises.

But honestly. As far as hearing and eyesight are concerned, there is nothing better you can do than test few models for yourself and pick the one you personally like
