If you get laid off at Walmart can you get rehired?

So I heard a rumor from my co-worker that after we finish our upcoming inventory, management will be laying off 30+ employees. They've been cutting full time hours for the past several months and we are already understaffed. It doesn't make sense. I have an "exceeds expectations" on my last evaluation, no coaches, and I'm always on time for work. though I'll be honest I don't work all that hard. We this have an effect? And if I do get laid off can I get rehired at another Walmart?

Do yourself the biggest favor you can. Do not ever listen to rumors from someone that knows no more than you. My daughter is a General manager for Walgreens and is asked this question several times daily as she tells me. Yes, all companies are cutting back on hours. Very little lay off. Use common sense. Do you really believe that Walmart would lay off half of their workforce. I assume you work in a store. Do you think laying off half workforce makes sense. I really get irritated over rumors, they override fact and destroy morale.

Should you get laid off and are not on probation for displinary reasons, then yes, you should be able to reapply to that Walmart or any other. Or use this experience to find a higher level job at another department like store. Best ofl luck.
