Do you appreciate the job that the monitors on here are doing?

From time to time I come across the most bizarre and mindless question on R&S.

Occasionally, I'll decide to answer one of them, only to find that they about to be
removed as in bad taste, irrelevant, or profoundly stupid.

I'd say that the people put in charge of censoring questions and answers here are
doing a fine job. Most of the craziness disappears very quickly.

Yes. Yahoo! Answers has become quite adept at censoring the opinions of users. I think the R&S section invites controversial and unconventional opinions. Take a look at the subject matter.

There's also a lot of vindictive reporting as well, aimed not at complying with the CG and TOS, but sanitising any view but their own. It's not the moderators doing this, but individual "trusted" users who get Q&A erroneously removed. I make a point of appealing erroneous reports as successful appeals reduce the reporter's trust rating.

I think they've given up because none of my appeals are answered.

This is how the reporters gain influence:

With dozens of sock accounts they slowly buildup, and then they unleash them all on something they don't like.

Not really. I recently got reported for answer that was undeniably true; however, it referred to Obama in a negative manner, so obviously the monitors are biased politically. It also appears they are the same when it comes to religious or non-religious beliefs.

With over 60 000 points to my credit, I am not distressed, when one of my more rational offerings is removed.
The crazies are always going to achieve some success.
