The fact that I'm racking my brain for a real standout and not finding one is really damning in the fact that there isn't a great forward this season. There are players that on any given day could tear a game apart, players you know potentially could be great but there's not been a great key forward this year. After 3 rounds I would have said Riewoldt definitely, after round 7 I would have said Schultz, at this moment in the season, I can't think of a more dangerous and consistent key forward than Tippett, the only forward I feel guarantees you at least 2-3 goals a game. It doesn't hurt when you're getting the delivery he's receiving right now

Nick Riewoldt has been the best performed forward imo this season. Hasn't kicked the most goals this season but isn't far off. Doesn't get many opportunities playing in a bottom 6 side, but creates plenty of contests all over the ground. He converts very well from set shots as well having kicked 27.7 this year.

Tom Hawkins has just kicked 4 goals in 1 quarter against Carlton. i asked a question a while ago about him V Cloke for Collingwood. as far as i'm concerned he is the stand out forward in the AFL at present.
Cheers.
