beekeeping question.?

My neighbor's boyfriend just moved his honey bee hives to her property yesterday morning, & my house is being swarmed. I read that he was supposed to keep them covered for couple of days, & he didn't do that. I read June was a bad month to move too. He says the bees shouldn't be bothering us, but they are swarming my a/c units & other places. I am a gardener and have never fear bees, but I developed a life threatening allergy to bees a few yrs ago. I still garden. In fact, I run a small perennial nursery, & I'm outside a lot. I'm just more aware of the behavior of bees, so that I don't invade their territory. I don't work in the same area that they are working in, etc. I've only been stung 3 times in 3 yrs, but always at someone else's yard. That is why I know these bees are agitated. I have a yard full of flowers, literally 100's blooming right now. Yet the bees are hanging around my driveway & a/c units. They are zooming us with close to the head flybys. Does anyone know how long it will be b4 they calm down? Is this usual with moving them? I don't know how far they were moved btw. We are all very tolerant of our neighbors here. I just want to know how long I should plan to stay inside. I have a helper coming to work in the garden that I need to schedule. Thx

There is no reason you should have to hide in your home due to your neighbors hobby (a good hobby of course if done properly). I do not know what your area look likes or how much property you have and they have but if this is in a residential area they could be breaking rules.

It could be days or weeks... there is really no way to know when they will clam down or move on. It kinda all depends on how much they were disturbed and if the queen survived the move.

If I were you I would talk to your neighbor about your concern, of course be nice about it... but like I said there is no reason you should have to hide in your home.

You should really talk to your neighbor about this, if he is a nice person he will understand and try to do something about it
