Can i legally "balance" genders at an arrangement?

Hey guys.

I'm currently arranging a party with some other people and i'm in charge of the ticket-sale. There will be about 350-500 people at the party, and we want it to be somewhat balanced gender-wise, as close to 50/50 as possible. But is this even possible? I thought about putting 250 tickets for sale for males only, and then 250 for females only, but i'm not sure if this is allowed. It is a completely private arrangement if that makes any difference.

Nope. It's sex discrimination, and you will be sued very quickly.
This is exactly why there are promotions like Ladies Night - when the single guys keep showing up and there aren't any chicks, they have to do something - but what you propose isn't legal.

If you're trying to get more females to show up, give out a door prize for anyone in a red dress. But then, you might end up with a completely different crowd...

lol You'll most definitely have the politically correct poe-leece on ya if they get wind of this! They're ALWAYS looking for something new to whine and cry about. As for its being legal - of course it's legal - that just may not be the most important issue to are "liberal" frenz.
