Private student loan question?

I need to take out a private student loan, through Discover or Sallie Mae, however I was wondering if anyone knew whether or not the loan would go straight to the school or to me? Thanks

The loan will go directly to the school to pay for your cost of attendance. Any sort of refund will be issued to you by the school from the loan funds.

I HIGHLY recommend NEVER taking out a private loan. You will regret it! I would skip an entire semester and work if I had too.
