Can you use Ubuntu for Verizon broadband via an emulator like WINE?

Verizon doesn't provide consumer-level broadband software that will run on Linux platforms. I'm wondering if someone has found a way around it. Thanks.

No software is required to begin with. The software that comes from your ISP is always optional.
