Should I jailbreak my phone?

I have an iPhone 5s that I got back in December, and it has the new version of iOS 7 installed. (I don't know if that makes a difference or not)

All I really want out of the jailbreak is to be able to customize my phone. I don't care about unlocking it or getting new apps really.

I just need to know, is it a smart move? Everyone I've asked that has jail broken their phone has said they were successful, but I'm worried that my phone will be the one that is destroyed. Could you guys give me some pros and cons to jailbreaking and whether or not you would risk it?

Jailbreaking is good but you will have to downgrade your software first I think, it might be different now, but when you want to or if you want to put your phone back to normal then you have to restore it as long as you use the right sites its fine but you may put viruses onto your computer by downloading the software like I did
