Can aids be transmitted through a bite that breaks the skin, like rabies?

Mostly just idle curiosity.

In theory, yes. It is a virus that is carried in human fluids. So if a person infected with HIV were to bite hard enough to puncture the skin and some fluid (saliva) enters the bite wound, then scientifically it is possible for the virus to be passed. I am not aware of any recorded case of that happening.

HIGHLY unlikely..... the virus does not last long in saliva....the most likely transmitting fluid is blood.... there would need to be blood mixed with the saliva....and the victim would need to also bleed
