How can we combine the ranges (-2 <= x <=3) and (-5 <= x <= 2)?

Okay this is an educated guess. For the first inequality -2<=x<=3, the domain would be x>=-2 and x<=3 and the range would be the same. For the second inequality -5<=x<=2 the domain would be x>=-5 and x<=2 with the range being the same as the domain. Since the range is the same as the domain, the combined result would be -2<=y<=2.
