The Swift school to get your CDL takes 3-4 weeks and then you are paired with a driver mentor for your first 200 hours behind the wheel, which takes 3-4 weeks.

Check to see if there is a community college in the area that offers the classes. In the area I live there are two that do. When you take the class through a trucking company you have to sign a contract with them that you will drive for them for two years. Once you have your CDL you get all the crap runs no one else wants. Plus the pay is less.
