Michigan spider identification?

Friend of mine found this spider. Says it seems to be bigger than a wolf spider. I can't find anything like it on searches nothing even comes close. Any ideas?

I just seen that it is just smaller than my friend's palm... They've decided it was a tarantula, most likely someone's pet that got out. Looking at picture, I can see the resemblance in the body shape, but that is very, very unlikely. It probably is an overgrown wolf spider but a lot of the pictures don't match up. And I can't tell for sure, but it appears its head is bald on the top, something else I can't match up with pictures...

This is one of the wolf spiders, and may be Hogna genus which can get quite big.
They are a harmless spider and beneficial for pest control.
You might notice its eyes, they will even shine in a flashlight like cat eyes.
I get some of the biggest in my yard, the carolina wolf spider, and can cover the palm of your hand.
