Voting strictly on party lines?

Do you usually vote on party lines or for the specific candidate? Have you ever told the people who do the pool calculations that you will vote one way only to actually do the opposite?

Given the pulse of the country being so split this year I am curious - I think it will be an interesting night on the 4th. Thoughts?

It really doesn't seem to matter much. Politicians will say one thing and then do what ever they want once elected.

If they could only serve a single term for only two years with a popularity vote after the first year things would change considerably.

The first priority will be keeping "red Ed" out rather than who I want to put in. I certainly dont usually vote on party lines, but I am a natural Conservative thinker and voter who sometimes will vote for the Labour candidate if I think they are better at that time. I have voted for Harold Wilson and Tony Blair. in their time.
