I wrote my first program in college in 1966, in Fortran. Since then I have written in assembler for everything from Motorola 6800 eight bit processors to IBM 360 mainframes, and a large number of high level languages. These included Fortran II and IV, MPL, Pascal, C, C++, LISP (VERY strange language!), various flavors of BASIC, and Ada. My favorite from all of the above is Ada, because it supports and encourages good programming practices and discourages poorly structured "spaghetti" code.
