How can you tell when a picture was taken from a normal camera?

I was renting a home until my lease was up in Sept. I left the house in perfect condition and as clean as you could have it cleaned. Well, my landlord screwed me over half of my deposit for damages I never saw or even made. I asked for proof and she sent me pictures.

The pictures look like they were taken from a camera you can easily buy, one of those disposable kind, but it doesn t say when the picture was taken.

Is there any way I can find out when these  pictures were taken? Can I take them to place to find out?

If the shots were taken with a film camera, the original prints just might have the date the image was printed on the back.
If the image was digital, then the exif data will be in the file itself.

You should have taken pictures yourself and then you would have proof. Also as a landlord, your idea of clean and my idea of clean (tenant ready) might be different. Once the pictures are printed there isn't much you can do about the date especially if they printed at home.

Funsaver cameras have no computerization whatsoever.  The only electronics are to charge the flash.  That's it.  Film processing does not expose info onto the negatives either.  So, unless there is printing on the back of the photo, you have no proof of date taken.
