Because Missouri finished 1st in the SEC East with a 7-1 conference record, better than Georgia's 6-2

Missouri is 7-1 in the SEC this season. Georgia is 6-2.

Even though Georgia beat Mizzou during the season Missou had a 7-1 SEC record vs.. Georgia's 6-2... They go to the championship by virtue of it's league record...
