I love "Jeopardy" but why does it always have to have bible questions for the categories? It offends me and I was raised a Catholic.?

Whether you're a Christian or not, the Bible is one of the pillars of Western Civilization. Bible trivia is known by Christians and non-Christians alike. The questions on Jeopardy are not about doctrine or interpretation, they're only about the actual stories. A recent immigrant from a Muslim or Buddhist country might be at a disadvantage, but every American knows who Adam and Eve were, what happened in the Exodus, where Jesus was born, etc.

Silly thing to get offended at. The Bible is the source of many common quotes and to a great extend shape our culture. It is myth and advertisng but it is still part of our culture.

I love the TV show, too. But it makes me proud for so many people who know and love the scriptures--I just hope that they understand what the scriptures really mean! And many people world wide do not even know God's name, but the profess to know him!

Bible scholars acknowledge that God’s personal name, as represented by the Tetragrammaton , appears almost 7,000 times in the original text of the Hebrew Scriptures. Below are a few examples.

Exodus 6:3 “And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by the name of God Almighty, but by my name JEHOVAH was I not known to them.”

Isa. 12:12 “Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the LORD JEHOVAH is my strength and my song; he also is my salvation.”

Isa. 26:4 “Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting Strength”

The Bible is part of our culture. Your loss. Don't watch it.
