They're always talking about economic individual choices- I just don't see how knowing everything they teach in the textbook can help everyone in their personal life.

We all live in economies; understanding about money and the economy is part of a complete education.
Uh, need for EVERYTHING that's in your text? It may well be there are things in your text that aren't essential.
The POINT should be to teach everyone how to understand things economic, and how to think intelligently about money and economies.
After all, we are all participants in an economic system, and all have the right to participate in the politiical system that makes decisions that effect the economy. Why shouldn't people be helped to so participate more intelligently, than stupidly?
