My parents thought it would be a really good idea to suprise me with a car for Christmas cause I never had one before. But anyways when I press on the gas hard the car shuts off. My parents suprises me with it so I wasent there too see them buy it. But what's wrong with my car? Did they get ripped off? It's a green hundai an it was 2 grand, but the gas peddle is a safety hazard. Can we fix it? What's wrong with it? An what would be the cost too fix it?

We dont have much info, it is green, so that explains everything. It's a hyundai. You press the accellerator down hard and the engine dies. Not much to go on. Very lean condition? adding more air with throttle wide open? That could die, or cough, at a low speed. You need someone to verify and define the problem gathering the data, the vehicle info, then update your question. a car that costs 2000 is probably several years old, we do not know if the filters and maintenance are up to date and we dont know the mileage. We need the trouble code if it can be read. If you can drive it without flooring it is it ok? You might get it looked at and take the tech for a road test to demonstrate and gather clues about other symptoms that may exist, get it inspected immediately to find out what you bought and its present and upcomming needs.
Give the car back, you need to take some lessons first. Examples It's not gas, its gasoline. Gas is like air. Gasoline is a fuel. It's not peddle, it's pedal. To peddle is to sell - like pedlars. It's not a gas peddle, it's the accelerator or throttle.
For info, if you suddenly "put the pedal to the metal", a lot of cars will hesitate or die because they need a service and proper adjustment, which current and possibly previous owners may not have done.
There's gratitude for you, you've been bought a car and already you are finding fault. Why are you pressing the gas pedal hard? That's a sure way to mess it up. Start it and let it tick over at about 1000 rpm until it's warmed up. There is no need to hit the pedal hard, even when driving, that's why you have a gearbox.
Anything can be fixed. A $2000 car is not going to be perfect. If your car randomly dies on you, then it's a safety hazard and needs to be fixed. You need to be talking to your parents about it, not fishing for random opinions here.
