Why is my paycheck so small?

My first paycheck 2 weeks ago was small because I was only paid for 1 week. It was $542.70. I just checked my account to see if my direct deposit for my full paycheck went in yet and it has. However, my so called full paycheck is only $564.97. That 2 week or full paycheck is only about $20 more than my 1 week small paycheck. What is going on here? Something is obviously messed up and I'm a little concerned about this. I did miss 2 days because I was severely sick. I make $15 per hour. Even with those 2 missed days, my check still should be between $900 and $1000

You earn more then most people in a week so try not to complain too much.
Always record the hours you worked. Also take into account taxes or any thing else that gets taken out of your pay like union fees, medical care or social security fees.
If it's still not adding up then get a copy of your bank statement, make a copy of your schedule, and bring your pay check to your manager and or to some one in the pay roll department to see what's going on.

Sounds like you get a weekly paycheck. Or you were not paid for Christmas as well as not your sick time. And then more taxes were taken out of the 2nd check. Study the pay stub, then ask payroll.

Unlike rich people, you are required to pay social security and Medicare taxes on everything you earn. If you earn more, they take way more. Until you earn $200,000 or more. You don't pay anything if you're that rich.
