Trouble shooting for a Sony Grand Wega TV.

The television is working great, but occasionally the image only will turn off for about 30 seconds. The audio will stay on. The television light indicator will be on & you can lightly hear the fan still going, but no image.

I read the Manuel for this tv. It doesn't address this problem directly. 
My hunch is it may be the lamp going out, but after a few seconds it will work perfectly fine.

It's not a big problem, but is there somthing I can do to fix it before I decide to take it to a repair shop?

All it probably needs is a service.  The design of this TV requires that it needs cooling.  Overtime the cooling fan and fins on the heat-sinks clog up with fluff.  Once that fluff is removed it should work fine!

A word of caution here, this really does need doing by someone who understands what they are doing as there are components in your TV that could kill you!
