We have a 1965 Chev Chevelle Malibu SS that is almost ready to hit the road. It is a total rebuilt, but period correct. Have no idea when it was last titled, or where. Information on Florida DMV seems to be about salvage titles on wrecked cars. Anyone had any experience with titling a 50 year old car?

You may have to post a bond and you'll probably have to affix a new VIN number and VIN plate from the state of Florida. You'll also probably needd an on-site inspection from the police. You'd better be mighty sure this vehicle isn't on a hot list from long ago, because if it shows up, you're gonna lose the car.

Nobody is that stupid that they restore and dump a ton of money into a car without legal ownership. If you have you're SOL. No title no ownership. Sell it in parts,or slap plates on it and drive illegally, because getting a title without finding the last registered owner and convincing him to obtain a duplicate to sign over you you will never happen
