is $250 to much for a gas bill in lincoln park chicago? I have the first floor of a 3 level apartment?

You don't say how many square ft that apartment is, what kind of heat you have, or how high you set the temperature, but I would think on a middle level like that the only place you would lose heat is the walls or if you have drafty windows.

I have a small 3 bedroom home (about 1200 sq.ft.) 35 miles NW of you built in 1910 with single pipe steam heat typically set for 65 degrees F. The home has added insulation and there are storm windows to block what would normally be drafty old wooden windows with lead weights. My gas bill last month was $109 and the one I just received is $121.
