I live in Louisiana,and I often here other people making assumptions that we are rednecks who live on the bayou and are uneducated when infact many of us are French or atleast speak French and are actually well educated. What do you guys think or hear about Louisianaians??

I've never been to Louisiana so I can't comment on that. France however, is quite liberal as is Germany and most of Western Europe. I also love the French language. But since Louisiana (I think) is in the Bible belt, it's probably full of fundamentalist idiots. If you're an atheist or gay and live there, I fear for your life and your education.
Edit: According to most people here, it's one of the most liberal states of the Bible belt, interesting...

Louisiana is actually one of the more liberal states in the south, and more 50/50 on Democrats and Republicans, speaking as a Louisianian myself =)
Most Louisianians also support gay rights.

im canadian and most of my distant relatives live in the new orleans vicinity.
as ACADIANS were expelled from the east coast of canada most of my family were on those boats. however some managed to escape into the interior of lower canada.
so, in general, im fond of the good people of louisiana !
after all, youre canadians at heart.
