Should I message her?

Okay so I've just met this girl whose been in my class all year. But I was in a group with her one day and we joke around sometimes and I want to get her number and get to know her. I have this homework assignment due in class tomorrow and I won't have time to finish 
it because of work. I was thinking about 
sending her a direct message on ig just to get the answers to the homework. But there's two problems if I do that. One is that I don't want to end up getting her number off a website as I feel that getting it in person means more. And another thing is that I don't want to seem stuck up or dumb to her for asking for the answers. I don't want her to feel like I'm using her for a grade or something. What should I do? Am I overthinking this or should I not ask?

First of all, don't ask her for the answers. There is quite a large risk that you may come of as a twit who is trying to get the answers off of her and not do any work. Definitely get her number in person, you are right, it would mean a lot more. You have plenty of time to think up a good excuse about your homework, if the lecturer doesn't take work as a legitimate one. Make sure to structure your excuse carefully as to make it seem legitimate, and double check that there are no 'holes' in it. Good luck.
