Something I'm a little worried about?

So I'm an 18 year old guy, never had a girlfriend, and a virgin. For good reason, I wasn't ready for a long time and I even had a couple opportunities where I could probably have had sex but decided not to, and when I was ready I couldn't find anyone truly worth it. But my question is, what would most girls think about this, especially around the college age? How would you girls react coming from the scenario of a potential hookup, or for a potential real relationship? I feel like most girls would run away from a virgin because the guy is expected to "know what he's doing" and  because girls don't want to risk the guy getting clingy. I would just not tell her, but if I'm not all that great the first time or three I want her to understand why...I have done a lot of research and I know a lot about sex but it's very different from actually doing it, experience is the best teacher. Thoughts ladies?

I'm not a lady but I can tell you this... If at 18 you think telling a girl you're still a virgin will put her off then you're looking for the wrong type of girl. At 25, this may be unusual, but at 18, I don't think it's THAT bad...

Well, some girls can be very picky. My boyfriend was a virgin and I was more than happy to teach him. If you find a good girl, that you like and likes you back, than you should be fine and she should be able to understand. There's nothing wrong with being a virgin. You sound like a decent guy so don't worry so much!

I think the way you go about being a virgin says a lot, you shouldn't feel embarrassed or anything about it, I think it's great that you want to wait for someone who's worth it, it shows how well you will be in a relationship and that's what girls want. And the girls who shame you for it are probably giving it up too easy

Well I understand. It kinda depends on the girl. If you think that girl is the one. And she loves you for you, then she'll understand. And there other girls who just want sex so be careful with that. I don't think it would honestly be a problem. You'll eventually get good at it.
