What foods to bring to a 12 hour party? Please mention anything that comes to mind from a meal to a snack. :-)?

This year I am a poll worker, which means on Election day we will be at the polls for 12 hours without being able to leave. What would be some good ideas regarding food to bring for myself and up to 7 others to eat thoughout the day.

I have a coffee pot, Crock pot, and a icecooler and electricity will be available, I don't know if there is a refrigerator available or not

P.S. Please mention anything that comes to mind from a meal to a snack. :-)

Whole fruits like apples, oranges, bananas, and grapes. Those don't need refrigeration, can be eaten out of hand and except for the oranges, aren't even messy.
A crock pot of chili, or beef stew is good too. You can nibble on that all day long, just keep it on the lowest setting so its hot enough. OR sloppy joes and buns.
Carrot and celery sticks are also good, don't really need refrigeration although if you can to keep them crisp, you can put them in a zip lock baggie in the cooler you intend to bring. A variety of chips and small snack size candy bars is also nice. Potato salad or pasta salad in an ice cream bucket can sit in the cooler in ice and will be perfectly safe all day till its gone. We did that all the time camping. the ice cream bucket seals tight to keep out water from the melting ice in the cooler and the salad keeps plenty cool. We would bury the bucket so it was completely surrounded in ice.
Cookies or cupcakes don't need refrigeration or cooling and are great snacks. Or make it muffins for earlier in the day, cupcakes for later.

First of all, have a potluck. Everybody needs to bring something to share. Secondly, bring ice chests and ice if you have it. Here are some ideas:

1. Simple snacks: roasted peanuts, trail mix, Hershey's Kisses, Craisens, etc.
2. Veges: we're talking carrot sticks, celery, broccoli, cauliflower, mushrooms, tomatos.
3. Chips and Dips: You can dip your veges in it too, but get some kettle brand chips and a killer dip or two.
4. Sandwiches: I'm a big fan of rollups but I also love getting a loaf of French bread and making my own version of Subway or Togos. Wrap individually and store in cooler. You could also bring all the fixin's and let people make up their own.
5. Cookies, bars, brownies, treats
6. Lots of water!

Now, if someone wants to bring dishes to share for a main meal, then you can pretty much bring anything I guess. Or, you could have a relative bring a pizza or two or ten.

a stew or soup, chili with cornbread, sandwich stuff (they will have a place to keep food cool) etc. working the polls on election day really isn't that rough. bring a sack lunch and don't worry about the other people working there unless you've all agreed to bring something to share throughout the day. I remember we just ordered pizza around lunch one year.

My 3 favorite party foods are deviled eggs, pigs in a blanket, and spinach dip in a bread bowl.

Tacos. You could get some taco seasoning packets and ground beef and make the meat for tacos, keeping it warm in the crockpot. You'll need tortillas, grated cheese, diced tomatoes, lettuce, and sour cream too.

Rolls or bread, cheese, lunch meat, mayo, mustard, lettuce, tomato and onion for sandwiches.

Chips and onion dip.

Plenty of cold soft drinks and coffee.

Don't know what polling station your sitting at, but all I brought was a cooler with drinks (NON Alcoholic), the rest we ordered delivery, pizza, fried chicken etc. One of the ladies bought in a whole load of cheese, crackers and cut up cold cuts for nibbles. Our tea and coffee was supplied to us.
