What about if you were to face chat?

No. Many reasons.

Reason One: Talking in person allows for facial expression, and bodily expression. You can understand more of what is being said and the tone it is being said in. For example, I can tell you now "there was a giant moose in my backyard." Could you determine whether that excited me? Depressed me? Angered me?

Reason Two: In person it is harder to mask/hide our true emotions. On line, we don't have to worry about being embarrassed as much, or making a fool of ourselves. This is why there are so many online trolls. There is no consequence for their poor behavior. I could call you a stool pigeon and it might upset you but I'd never have to deal with you again.

Nope nope. It's so much easier to do it online, but at the same time it isn't as good to get to know someone. Also if you're speaking to someone who you're interested in, it's so much fun to flirt and speak in person.

Plus you can't kiss or touch online so... :P

Definitely not. Though you can say you are talking to that person either way.
