Without getting emotional, calmly explain why you feel the criticism is unjustified. You don't have to tell them she is your friend to stand up for her. Sometimes people don't know the full story of something and so they think they are right when they are not, and you don't have to get emotional or rude to put them straight

I listen. I'm not challenging friends because they don't like my other friend(s). If they ever gang up and do it to her, in front of me, then my FRIENDS are about to find out MY DEFINITION OF FRIENDSHIP.
One on One I have NO PROBLEM, with. To gang up on one. NOPE.
