how long does it take to be a lvn and whats the difference between lvn and rn?

I live in Houston TX and was wondering how long it takes and also If I had gotten financial aid before for school and I'm allowed to get it again if I apply for lvn

LVN, or LPN where I live takes a year. Entry level to get into RN nursing is 2 years.
