I'm having trouble with the Death of Chivalry quest that I still haven't finished in some time because I can't defeat Dawn. And since Dawn is a mage and i'm melee, I have a huge disadvantage and I'd love to have some of my friends help me but I don't know how! So if you can, how do you do it?

Just switch to range and you'll be able to defeat her easily. No, your friends can't join you in the quest instance.
In Runescape you'll encounter lots of different monsters that use different combat styles. If you're only learning 1 style, you'll be at a huge disadvantage. You need to train all 3 styles.

Depends on the type of help, but usually no. Most quest locations are instanced (so you'll be alone) and any skill prerequisites are normally required before you can start the quest.
