Why do conservatives promote trickle down economics?

The only thing that trickles down in trickle down economics is the strength, power, and wellbeing of any nation employing such pro-too-big-to-fail policies. The average American is left to struggle. Tax increases on people who don't have money to give makes no sense. Meanwhile, massive corporations that do as little as they can to help the average worker, see a massive increase in already astronomically large profit margins. WHY?

@ don
It doesn't work. It never has. Studies have time and time again proven it. Just tell me right now-- what the hell is moral about taking money from a hardworking, middle-class American. Lazy slob. You want to rob the poor. Disgusting.

@ Joe in Texas
I don't use the Internet for porn, thank you very much. I am a good Christian woman, and I am offended you should imply I would.
Now I'll also have you know I have a degree in economics and I have carefully studied the correlation between various economic policies and national wellbing, and trickle down policies consistently did harm.

Consumer side economics has led to the slowest recovery in history. Under supply side the rich do get richer but so does the middle-class and most importantly it grows in size.

Because conservative ideology is controlled by the rich. They use various front groups and media outlets to steer conservatism in the direction they want it to go. Ultimately, most conservative ideology is controlled by Rupert Murdoch, the Koch brothers, and the rest of their billionaire cronies.
