can grout be stained or painted the same color as the tiles you are using before installation?

The backsplash area we want to tile is not square. Old kitchen, so the counter is slanted and so are the cabinets. Everyone says to cut the tiles to make them straight, but I'm thinking it would look better if the tiles are all the same size and the grout is what is uneven, especially if the grout can be the same color as the tiles. Is there a way to match the grout to the tiles? I don't find the same color in the store, so thought maybe custom grout? Thanks.

There are, and I haven t seen or used them for 20 years, additives to dye grout. Inconistency (sp) in grout color is what led to there not being used anymore.
Check other stores and brands to get other grot colors. Theres hundreds of color choices.
Unless the counter top is WAYY off level ( I ve never seen one so bad you can t work w/it) start with a whole tile on the bottom and work up since its a small area the cut should be at the top and usually less noticable..
Plus the larger pc at the top, the less noticable it ll be.
Consider a liner bar or different size/color tile if you need to make up some space to get a bigger tile at the top..
Do a diagonal tile ( same tile or different ) stripe to get a bigger pc at the top..
Plus there are stains that you can do to the grout after its in as a choice if you don t like it when its all done.. GL

it's going to look a mess and grout stains with use and the colour will change no mater how well you match it so in a couple of month you have a mess there are plenty of plastic tile imitations you could cut and fit tiling is basically level and square no bending or twisting you cut to shapes from a level line
