Please help settle an argument! I have advised a friend if he has had cocaine use (about half a gram) the night before he has a local anesthetic for a tooth extraction, he should be fine but should let the dentist know. I know if it was a general anesthetic it could be dangerous. Can anyone help?

The use of local anesthetics on a patient who has recently used cocaine can result in a cardiovascular emergency. Dental treatment requiring the use of a local anesthetic should not be performed until 24 hours from the time of the cocaine use. He should postpone his appointment or he'll likely be sent home from the dentist's office causing an unnecessary hole in their schedule that it will be too late for them to fill.
the use of anesthesia on a pateint who has recently used cociane could result in cardiovascular heart emergency. he should postpone the surgery. If he goes to the dental surgeon they will know he did cocaine and probably send him home.
