I have a female medium rat who is 6 or 7 months old. I just bought a new rat (a little bit smaller and younger). The new one is in quarantine right now.
Does anyone have any tips for introducing the two in a way that will be safe and easier for both of them?

You want to do the intros in a neutral area, like a bathtub or spare room your rat has rarely or never been into. When they are done exploring each other they will usually ignore the other rat and start to groom itself or just might groom the other rat. That is when you know things are good. Treats are a good thing too, it helps them both affiliate that they are good, rat + treats = positive. Hope it helps and your rats become best buddies! :D
