2003 Dodge Neon coolant leak?

I just discovered a coolant leak in my 2003 Dodge Neon on Thursday. I didnt find out until the next day that it was coolant. I added more coolant thinking it was low because of the leak but it was still very full. The engine does not run hot, and there is no steam coming from under the hood when the car is running or off. The leaking starts after I turn the car off. It doesnt leak for very long before it stops. Obviously its not a head gasket. So Im kinda thinking its something simpler (I hope) like a hole in a hose somewhere. What do you guys think it could be if its not a hose problem? I have heard that if it was a water pump problem that there would be a knocking sound. Is this true? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank You

The best way to determine if and where coolant is leaking is by inspecting and pressure testing the cooling system. This involves pressurizing the system and inspecting all parts of the system i.e. radiator and hoses, heater core and heater hoses as well as the heater core engine and water pump and even the coolant reservoir and hoses. If there is a leak it should show up under pressure.

It stops as the running pressure releases to a certain level. Waterpumps have weep holes and it could be coming from there. It will be small at first and get bigger over time. Some guy has the answer to this if you want to actually know for sure.

Sounds like there is too much coolant in it and its coming out of the hose for the overflow tank.

Spread a newspaper under the car (if you still have newspapers) to find out where it's dripping.
