Is it safe to delete the files in the downloadmanager folder?

I m trying to free up space on a Samsung Galaxy Core Prime phone and if I delete the files in the downloadmanager folder, more than 600 MB would be cleared. What problems would that cause on the phone, if any, if I did that?
