Some will sit their and preach about how judging and bullying is wrong but the second they a see a "prep" or a "swag" kid they do the exact same thing.
Some will sit there and make homophobic comments or take rape very lightly (i.e. ME RAPE CHEEEWWW HHEHEHEHEHEHHEEHHHH) but will get mad if you think cutting is ugly.
So what's up with that???

yes *some* emos are annoying like that. they're likely not really even "emo", just poseurs. there's too many poseurs, popular with teens...
some take it so far that they pretend to act like they hate preps or swags or jocks, or think they're being random/funny + saying rather futile things (that's more of what a scene kid would do, though).. most ppl would agree cutting is wrong + there are better ways to cope (unless, of course, they're cutting for attention or think it's cool, then they're still poseurs).
these poseurs are worsening the label for others who either actually are emo, or who actually have a serious prob in which they feel they have to cut to distract + such, or who have serious depression + aren't faking any of this (cuz it does happen to ppl).
kids/teens can be jerks. they can be immature, annoying + rude... they probably do that cuz they're overdoing the whole "acting emo", or just cuz they're teens/immature + don't know how to act properly yet..

People of all sorts are hypocritical, it's part of both human nature and our society. Also, teenagers are known for having a tough time with empathy, they are still kids, they are still learning how to be good people.
