Was Hakeem Olajuwon's 1995 playoff run the greatest of any alltime great?
He beat the 60-22 Jazz in the first round, the 59-23 Suns in Round 2, the 62-20 Spurs in the WCF and then swept the 57 wins Magic who beat Jordan's Bulls in the East. The Rockets never had homecourt advantage in any series due to their 47-35 season record and Hakeem had to play Hall of Famers in every round (Stockton, Malone, Barkley, Shaq, Rodman) aswell as the reigning MVP David Robinson who he completely dominated in the WCF averaging 35 Points, 12.5 Rebounds, 5 Assists and 4 Blocks per game
Overall he averaged 33 Points (.533 FG%), 10.3 Rebounds, 4.5 Assists, 1.2 Steals and 2.8 Blocks over his 22 Playoff games. I personally cannot think of any player who had to face that tough competition for their title from the very first round while putting up those numbers...he outplayed numerous Hall of Famers, a Spurs team with the current MVP and 2 former DPOYs and 2 of the top 10 Centers of all time.
Name me one better playoff effort.
