Why is IGN so biased towards Call of duty?

It seems like every COD game never gets less than 8/10 stars on their website. Even Ghosts got an 8.5 rating even though most people hated it. Whats up with this?

Favorite Answer

1. Reviews are subjective
2. At first people didn't hate Ghosts. People just hated it over time. These reviews are typically done at launch or pre-launch
3. Most reviews of COD games are based on Campaign heavily, with multiplayer taking a back seat.

It's a persons opinion. Everyone has an opinion, and some people just like bad games. If you don't like IGN's opinion on COD, then by all means, you should read someone else's opinion on COD.

BTW, COD Ghosts got a 78/100 on the Meticritic aggregate for PS4 and XBox1, so an 8.5/10 (or 85 out 100) is higher than the aggregate, its not totally out of the ball park.
