Why is the ps4 outselling the xbox one, even after xbox has improved?

The Xbox1 has received many improvements against the ps4 over the years. They've basically beat sony with new features and new exclusives to their console. But somehow the ps4 is still leading in sales. Whats going on?

People are sheep. Basically this generation the PS4 had been the system the media has decided to push so that is what people are buying. The same thing happened for the Xbox 360 last gen. More people bought PS4's at the start, many with the idea that it would perform noticeably better (which it doesn't in most cases, some have a higher res PS4, some have better frame rate Xbox One but really no real difference). Then as they bought it friends bought it and so on.

However though sales numbers look good on paper it doesn't actually effect anyone. As you said, if you bought an Xbox there are heaps of great things about it. 2016 has one of the best exclusive line ups on a console ever, backwards compatibility, DX12, Windows 10 cross play etc etc. These are things the consumer enjoys, not sales. From Microsofts POV it doesn't matter either. The profit margin for every Xbox sold is actually much greater than that received by Sony (that is the curse of the bolstered GPU) so Microsoft is still making tons.

Xbox won't sell more this gen, it is that simple. But from the POV of the individual it really shouldn't matter. You can't play sales. But you can play Halo 5.

when the xbox one first launched, there were a lot of features that made xbox owners upset, like always online, no used games capability, kinect was a must have, and other features and lack of games.

plus, they were focusing the xbox one as a multi media outlet for tv, movies, and games, where the ps4 was focused solely on gaming. the ps4 technically has better processor and graphics for faster frame rates and such, and people like to be technical so they refer to that for games. but, i couldn't care less about frame rates and graphics. the games that are released today are pretty much the same, and unless you have a really high end tv to show the difference, you won't see much in a normal hdmi tv.

but, with all these improvements, i think it will catch up to the PS4 over the holidays and with halo 5 just released as well. there's new backwards compatibility for some 360 games, no always online, kinect is almost dead, and the interface will be improved on nov 12th.

Being the owner of both Microsoft's Xbox One and Sony's PlayStation 4, comes down to marketing scam and the hype in 2013. Although the tides are turning because PS4's hype is dying down well Xbox One continues to evolve.

Look at Atari's Jaguar, "Best Hardware" yet Nintendo still won out because of better video games, as of right now Microsoft's Xbox One has better exclusives + With backwards comparability expect Sony's PlayStation 4 hype to slowly drain over time. Guess The People like security, over hype. How many times has Sony been hacked thus far not telling users until they can do absolutely nothing about it.

I own both, I see the line in the sand.

I am an xbox guy soo. To be pc (again) and hardware ps4 wins not to mention WTF IS THAT POWER BRICK on the xbox.. Seriously why don't they just add it inside the council

I think layout performance xbox wins however xbox focuses more on capabilities on like movies etc etc it's a social media box and ps4 focuses more on gaming that is why better games are released on ps4

You never truly live down a bad first impression.
Also, PS4 is most familiar.
