93 ranger gear ratio change 2.3 standard shift 29inch tall tires?
came with 3.45, changed to 3.73 cause went to 29 inch tires ,235 75 15s, my driving is 1/3 town 25-35, 1/3 is country roads 30-45 other 1/3 is highway 55-65,. Rite now driving 55 my rpm is 2350 in 4th gear, its a little of a dog out of hole, still half to down shift going up slit grade hills,or i can feather the gas pedal in 4th with low vacume 3-8 in vacume, gas milage is upper teens, the maximum torque with that motor is 2600 rpms, i figured out with 4.10 at 55 4th gera will put rpm at 2610 rpm, then thers 5 th gear, that will bring it down a little more, i need some good opinions thanx
