What impact does an El Nino have on winter (the winter to come for Southern Hemisphere in June)?

The Southern Hemisphere is bringing dry conditions and extreme heat here in South Africa as it is middle summer now, so when winter comes in June and the El nino might have weakened, will it leave a even drier , warm winter, or perhaps a very cold one ?
