it depends on the fish. i have 2 females and one male in a 20 gallon with 3 dwarf gourami and some guppies. my tank is planted though so that may help establishing territories so the fish dont fight. multiple females can be housed together, but not all of them. even multiple males can be housed together depending on the size of your tank and the temperament of your fish. just put her with the guppies and if she starts harassing them non stop, take her out. my male betta will flare and chase another fish away if they come into his little area of the tank, but thats about it. he doesnt nip or anything.

Yes usually the females can be put in a tank with other fish.
