Well there are over 33,000 Christian sects, many of which are sending each other to hell for "whatever" so yes, Christians do tend to place emphasis on certain scripture and ignore or dismiss other equally valid scriptures.
I'm unaware of any "murderous, rapist, marriage" verses but perhaps we're experiencing a failure to communicate. In fact I suspect such to be the case.

No they do not cherry pick verses. Maybe, just maybe we understand the spiritual meanings behind them. Scripture when not taken out of context (which happens a lot) can be interpreted as literal, figurative, or allegoric. If one studies, they can determine which is and isn't to understand the spiritual principles being demonstrated or taught.

The Bible is a book.
Like every other book, there exists context. Christians don't deny the literature; they simply refer to it according to its greater meaning in context.
By simply laying out that these verses exist and demanding a response, you are actually "cherry-picking," and ridiculously so, since there is no other book that you would tear lines out of with such indignance and then not bother to comprehend their cultural, historical, chronological, and plain logical purpose and design.

Nonbelievers pick and choose the verses they want and they do it without actual research..
