My church secretary said the n-word the other day about why we get MLK day off and not Lee Jackson My question is should I report her?
It was just her and me in the office so if she know it going to be me

If she is a true Christian, she would not have used the N word or make any other racist remarks. If this is not tolerate at your church, I would let the pastor know. With that being said, she must not like Jesus, I believed the bible stated he is a Jew. Watch out now.

In my experience it's always better to confront someone and give them a chance to modify their behavior directly, instead of taking the cowardly (well, let's say instead passive-aggressive) way of ratting them out to someone else.

Besides the racial slur, her comparison is absurd. Clearly MLK became a cause célèbre because he was an assassinated leader of a people risen from slavery and who still suffered gross indignities in the 1960's that make those of today pale by comparison. If she is too much of an ignoramus to recognize this there may be no reasoning with her, but at least make it clear that the racial slurs are unacceptable. She can think whatever she wants, but when she pollutes those around her with her bigotry it's time to draw the line. Confront her, not angrily or adversarially, but tell her that she has behaved in a way that you find offensive, and she needs to consider her actions.

I wouldn't know who you would report her to and she will just deny it anyway. King was an extremely well know Civil Rights leader, but I have never heard of Lee Jackson, so have no idea why we would celebrate his life.

Many Churches hire secretaries outside their own church. Be nice, skip the tattling.

You should do whatever your gut is telling you you need to do -- but you need to bear in mind that there are probably going to be consequences for whatever you decide, and when they arrive you'll know whether or not you did the right thing.
