I was planning to sue on small claims for a guy who pretty much robbed me for 162.$?
This mechanic guy was supposed to fix my truck and he was always making excuse to not come or not answering the calls and he wasn't returning the money either. It past around 2 months and today he finally paid 200. Can I still sue in small claims because he was going to fix the vehicle within the week but I stayed out of work for almost 3 months, I stayed a long time without income. California.

You can not sue for lost time from work. Because it is your response ability to find ways to get to work while your vehicle was in the shop. Take a cab, the bus, walk, ask a friend, ride a bicycle or rent a car. You can sue for any money you paid and has not been returned
You can't sue if he finally returned your money, extra even. The reasoning is that you could have gotten to work by bus, friend, taxi, etc. so it's not his fault.
He returned you more money than what you gave him. So no, you have been made whole. You could have taken the car back and brought it elsewhere at any time.
