Connecting two monitors to mid-2012 Macbook?
How do I do it? Im limited to one thunder port. One screen puts out HDMI the other VGA. I'm trying to keep the cost down i.e. not buying an $80 adapter. Any help is appreciated!

Firstly, there was no Mid 2012 MacBook. There was a Mid 2012 MacBook Pro non-Retina and a Retina.

The non-Retina MacBook Pro Mid 2012 can only support one external display. The 15-inch Retina MacBook Pro Mid 2012 can support two external displays. To connect two displays to the Retina model, connect one via HDMI and another via Mini DisplayPort.
You can connect a second external display to a non-Retina, but you would need a USB to video adapter, and the result will likely be disappointing, neither fast nor smooth, much like a dog walking on its hind legs.
